Dinnertime Marketing is the creation of Elizabeth Millar and Rachel Jefferson — Santa Barbara-based friends who are balancing married life (and for Elizabeth, raising a toddler!) with our marketing work life. Our goal is pretty straightforward: as we learn more about marketing we want to share the knowledge with others. And we blog during dinnertime, so you might get a yummy recipe out of us once in a while.

Who now? I’m originally from Hollister, CA where the high school mascot is a Hay Baler. Since then, I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara where I was, and still am, a Gaucho. From farmers with pitchforks to Argentine cowboys–I guess that’s just how I roll. I’ve worked at a trucking company, title company, brewery, coffee shop, bank, publisher, and software company. I’ve done all sorts of odd jobs and enjoy wearing many hats. Right now I manage web content for a manufacturing software company and run their social media program.
Interesting note: In April of 2009 I was lucky enough to wake up Canadian. If you’re not sure what that means, look it up. You might be Canadian too, eh.
Personally: I don’t think I could call this a proper bio without mentioning that I’m a proud mom of the funniest, most adorable toddler around. Stories and pictures of her are probably going to make their way into Dinnertime Marketing. After all, it’s “dinner” time, not “at work with adults” time.

The Validating Stuff: After suffering a slight panic attack born from the realization that I had a B.A. in English and did NOT want to teach unruly children, I finally began my career love affair with the written word. I started as an editor, fact checker and writer for a health-lifestyle-travel magazine and then moved on to a public relations and marketing role for an educational resources publisher where I focused on press releases, social media, and website and email content. I’m currently a web marketing specialist for a global manufacturing software company supporting content creation, email marketing, and as of fairly recently, Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Fun Facts: In my free time you’ll find me in the nosebleeds at LA Kings hockey games, reading fiction poolside, rocking out at a concert, or calling someone out on their misuse of the apostrophe (it’s not the 1990’s).
